I do not trust any numbers coming out of Cloudfare. They are an incompetent organization. They've blocked my access to legit websites open in inactive tabs, and I failed to see or respond to "Are you human" verification checkbox. Their dumb software interpreted that as AI bot and blocked my access. This has happened multiple times. I had to call the site's support to get account working. Their number is probably fudged with all sorts of similar instances.
What is conveniently left out to make this nothing burger a click-bait is how many people immigrate to NZ. That's 250-150K/year. So even with 80K/year migration outflow, over 50-100-150K more people moved in to NZ, resulting in a healthy overall population growth.
Then it should be FAA and other regulatory agency's job to shift the focus from evading liability to safety and mitigating risks/hazards.
Medical devices also don't want product liability, but FDA makes sure that device makers focus on patient safety first and foremost over all other business concerns.
A safety critical system should have checks in place to require pilots to confirm an action that can lead to catastrophic event. This plane is loaded with sensors and computers, it would easily be able to tell that shutting the engines down will be catastrophic, and require a pilot to confirm their action. I write software for medical devices, and we have such mechanism in place in case a physician makes a mistake using the software and configures the device in a way that could potentially harm the patient.
Why did Boeing not include such a basic mechanism in their design? Why did their design review not catch such basic safety risk?
I don't buy that this was a pilot error/suicide, that's just a very convenient excuse.
100%. I've completely cut off Amazon and all other billionaire business. These ego maniacs can shark my chick.
With today's collaboration tools, with audio/video and immediate access to your teammate's availability status, working online is more productive than in-person. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just ignorant about use of collaboration technology or on a management power trip.
Can someone explain how is PINS worth $17.5B vs RDDT $15B?
I've only known one person who uses PINS. Almost everyone I know has visited and engaged on RDDT.
By WFH, we're using less of the office space, electricity, heating/cooling cost, water, office supplies etc. saving company a lot of $$ in the process. Therefore, they should be willing to pay more from all of that saving.
How does this box utilize $184,000/month? That makes no sense, how would it consume that much energy? Is it minting Bitcoin all the time while not dispensing the DVDs?!
Seems super exaggerated.
I am waiting for this to approach $80-$100 range and settle there. Losing $1B/month is a lot even for BA. There is no reason this should still be ~$150! To pricey and does not price in all the bad news and an ongoing, expensive strike.
No sympathy for these idiots who choose to put money in fake made up currencies. A large % of this money pool is probably black money that was put there to avoid taxation and garnered through bribes and other assortment of nefarious practices.
For the hard-earned retail investor who lost money, sorry for your loss. Learn your lesson and do better in the future. May be it is better to not be super greedy and think about what your money is insured against. And never invest more than what you can afford to lose.
That way burglary will be saved locally, and while it won't trigger a security alert if WiFi is jammed, it would retain evidence for LEO/insurance information.
Better than nothing.
