Growing up my first ISP was SoVerNet, at the time it stood for "Southern Vermont Internet", the area they covered. Later on they changed it to "Vermont's Sovereign Internet Connection". I think at this point they've given up trying to apply meaning to it and it is just a name =]

So, using your purpose or mission as a starting point may be a better strategy than pigeon holing yourself with geography.
