I use a 42" FullHD LCD TV as my primary monitor, and a 22" TFT as the secondary. I would like to switch the 22" to another 42" to get some more screen space (it has only 1680x1050). The only bad thing about using a TV as a monitor is that you need to turn it on by using the remote. If you use HDMI input, I can't see any difference in quality (at least on my sets). Also, it's great for watching movies!

Nokia is located in Finland, so the legality goes that you should claim directly to the CEO Steven Elop (and the Board) that they are violating your copyright in commercial purpose. This is punishable in Finland up to 2 years in prison, and the CEO and the Board are directly responsible for any such violations (not the middle managers). In addition you should present a claim to immediately stop using your copyright, get a court order to back it up etc. Just hire a lawyer from Finland, and they can do it for you in no time :)

Submission + - Digia to acquire Qt from Nokia 1

MrvFD writes: "Ever since the most recent layoffs were announced by Nokia last month and the end of Qt related programs at Nokia was rumored, the fate of Qt has been in the air despite it nowadays having a working open governance model. Fear no longer, Qt brand, since Digia has now announced acquiring of Qt organization from Nokia. While relatively unknown company to the masses, it has already been selling the non-free (non-LGPL) licenses of Qt for 1.5 years. Hopefully this'll mean a bright future for Qt in co-operation with other Qt wielding companies like Google, RIM, Canonical, Intel, Skyp... Microsoft, Jolla and the thousands of Qt open source and commercial license users. Digia now plans to quickly enable Qt on Android, iOS and Windows 8 platforms, where work has already been underway for some time."

Infinity Ward Fights Against Modern Warfare 2 Cheaters 203

Faithbleed writes "IW's Robert Bowling reports on his twitter account that Infinity Ward is giving 2,500 Modern Warfare 2 cheaters the boot. The news comes as the war between IW and MW2's fans rages over the decision to go with IWnet hosting instead of dedicated servers. Unhappy players were quick to come up with hacks that would allow their own servers and various other changes." Despite the dedicated-server complaints, Modern Warfare 2 has sold ridiculously well.

Submission + - Pirate Bay buyer goes Bankrupt (www.svd.se)

pharazon writes: "According to the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, the Global Gaming Factory (GGF), the prospective buyer of the file sharing site Pirate Bay, has been sued in the Stockholm District Court for bankruptcy due to an unpaid debt of up to 1.4Million SEK (Swedish Crowns, roughly 200k USD). The issuer is GGF's trading partner Advatar Systems. GGF was recently de-listed from the Aktietorget.se equity market due to financial and reporting failures, but was able to re-list later. The Swedish Tax Office was also claiming large sums of unpaid taxes from the owners of the GGF. The discussion on the Swedish media has been skeptical about the Pirate Bay deal due to financing issues."

Submission + - NCSoft drops Game Guard from western launch of Aio (aiononline.com) 1

chalkyj writes: "NCSoft has announced that they will be dropping Game Guard, from the western launch of their upcoming MMORPG. The flawed Korean anti-cheat software has been heavily criticised for employing root-kit like techniques and conflicting with many hardware configurations. The final straw is thought to have been the stability issues experienced by players during open beta and the community outcry it caused. The decision makes Aion, which recently announced over 400,000 western pre-orders, a real contender in the western MMO market."
