I'll take the one that is $100 cheaper and replaces the internal computer with a bunch of HDMI ports.
Sadly, it doesn't work that way. The dumb TVs are low-end models that have only basic features. If you want features like extra ports, a better quality panel, a full set of adjustments to calibrate the display, TVs in that range will also have the "smart" feature. That's ok for me as long as it works normally as a monitor when it's not connected to the Internet.
Also, if you want to build a computer, where else do you go?
Amazon.com. The last time I built a computer, Amazon had nearly all the parts I needed at the same prices, including all the expensive parts. Amazon has a much better return policy. I've been avoiding Newegg since they required me to pay shipping to return a DOA power supply. It was heavy and I had to ship it from Boston to California. Amazon would have provided a prepaid shipping label at no cost.
I'm sure there's a list of affected processors with the range of serial #s. Something easy to check.
The defect is not in the processors, although people are going to be confused about that. The defect is in the Cougar Point P67 and H67 support chipsets.
