Agreed and that is what I did, provided them with their own computers, the Internet and specific rules regarding the use. Unauthorized use would subject them to loss of privelages. There is another good reason why there is a root user.(approzimate ages was 11 - 12) After they show proficiency with the tools, I started to expose them to "ideas" Ray Kurwiel, Steve Jobs and Wozniak, Craig Ventor, and such.
