First off the energy transmitted from space would see serious loss due to the distance and crap that the RF would have to go through in order hit a ground station. Also beam width of the energy would have to be so precise, because its foot print would create a need for a very very large dish. Novel idea that does not deserve to much credit.

But when you take a town of 25,000 where the vast majority are violently anti-american and put lots of american soldiers in the center of town, you're going to have lots of people die. You choose who you would rather have die. Your neighbors and countrymen, or some terrorist raghead who is hell-bent on destroying america and is practicing building bombs in his kitchen.

Seems like they might have had "good" reason to hate the "Americans." :) Maybe if we had never gone there in the first place you wouldnt have had to been hopped up on so much bull. Congrats for justifying the slaughter of human beings, your a winner in life. No really you are, you lived and they died. Good stuff.

That's what happens when you have to many people that favor people skills over productivity. I think the "free market" economic model is good at explaining the benefits of competition. Competition keeps things moving and people thinking. Equilibrium is a good thing. Firms should strive to keep their product and production as competitive as can be called practical.
