I believe that government regulation caused the issues with Wall Street and the economy. We can't really compare how the free market worked because it was constrained. Locked into an ISP? I live out in the middle of nowhere and have few options. I used BRI ISDN until about 4 years ago. Even then I always had the option of analog dial-up, satellite or cellular service. Customers who ISP is no longer neutral can just switch providers. At the end, is the data all cover over the same telco lines? It probably does. However, the main idea is to keep the government out of it. Once they get in, they will not get out.

Fallout 3 DLC and Games For Windows Live Woes 121

A reader writes with news that the Operation Anchorage downloadable content for Fallout 3 has been released. Rock, Paper, Shotgun details the extensive difficulties encountered by users of Games for Windows Live while trying to locate and install the new content. This is the first in a series of three DLC releases, and they are exclusive to the PC and Xbox 360. The last, Broken Steel, will allow players to continue within the game once the main story is finished. Unfortunately, Bethesda apparently doesn't plan to patch that ability into the PS3 version.

It is shameful to leave out CS, DoD and TFC. I think another really important one was Red Orchestra: Combined Arms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Orchestra:_Combined_Arms). Originally, it was a mod for Unreal Tournament 2003. They won nVidia's Make Something Unreal mod contest many years ago.
