Every major movie studio has a streaming service of its own, except for Warner Bros. Universal is part of Comcast and has Peacock, Paramount has Paramount+, Disney has Disney+, Sony has something (not sure how big it is).

For those who oppose it, would it feel different if the announcement was that Warner Bros. was buying Netflix to also offer its own streaming platform to compete with the other studios that created their own?

The only thing I don't like about the current media landscape is people have to sign up to a plurality of services to see all the content they want to see. But we are already well down that road, and it's becoming so costly that I suspect piracy is now on the rise. A low-cost streaming service like Netflix used to alleviate most desire to pirate content. The media companies all know this.

Fedora is published under the MIT license. It's a pretty liberal license that allows copying for whatever use. I wasn't aware of Oracle copying Fedora, but that would have been allowed under its license. The only requirement would have been retaining of the copyright notice.
