News should represent all facts (Score 1)

News should try to represent all voices possible, all points of view, all possibilities. it is always in the best interest of sender and receiver to uphold the highest standards for truth, accuracy and integrity in any communications. This includes news on slashdot. But don't be overwhelmed by this suggestion. Even with the imperfect reporting you cknowledge, Slashdot is miles above, for example, the Denver Rocky Mountain News which recently printed a voters guide and completely excluded all third party candidates. They went so low as to lie that 24 state and federal candidates were "unchalleged" even though all of them are challenged by at least one third party candidate, and in some cases 2 or 3. At the national level the news should cover all points of view for the presidential race, but they only include Bush and Gore. This isn't news, this is censorship. /. has its problems, but it is a lot better than most.
