Seems to be the Elon approach. Wreck then you can control it, what he learned with twitter. Then used that idea for the govt cuts to keep the govt away from Tesla. Trump wants far more ICE, which will be his SS. Look how they can just yank anyone off the street. Concerned there will come a point they are yanking native born citizens because they don't like them for whatever reason

I don't. I actually like to end the day with a walk and I leave my phone at home. It feels good u won't be possible pestered for about an hour. Then how most would be designed to continually try to get your attention, just no. I like apple carplay so I can listen to music and podcasts, and it limits notifications. Google maps became so annoying under carplay mode I removed it. It makes sense to get a notification in navigation mode for a turn, but it wanted to notify for things like I searched a fast food restaurant the night before

I'm a teacher at a jr college. How much some would rather text that state is person is interesting. They have grown up in their phones they may not be good at it unless close people. My nephew's upbringing is an interesting contrast, he just started high school. He did get a smart phone in jr high, but they have limited social media. I don't think he has anything. But possibly the more significant influence is Amish. All his baby sister were amish and now he works a couple days a week at one of their stores. He is even fluent in dutch. When he attended an FFA event recently, he thought the girls were immature. He can go up to anybody and talk to them, very personable.

Began recently a book detailing the issues with Private Equity. A significant source of their income is to take control (but in a way not actually own) and charge fees. Not only do costs go up, but regularly the product (for healthcare the quality of care) goes down. The fee charging smelled alot to me how the housing market collapse was fueled by selling bundled mortgages made money by the fees, not the ability of the loans to be paid

Is it that simple? If I understand correct, a significant reason for increasing university (more specifically state supported) cost is the increasing percentage of the population going to university. The states contributions can't keep up per student. As the more went off to a university, the govt became more involved with student loan regulation because it was being used more.

Being an alum, Mitch Daniels (the current president) has froze the tuition for a while. This looks like one of the results. I found the link to the school paper that the english department will have to freeze new grad students due to budget limits. A personal experience for me there was a professor pointing out some basic paragraph structure I lacked; my high school was weak and things like that weren't covered. There will still be english classes, but this isn't good to the department for talent.

Mitch has done some good, but also things that very concerning. A stand out good thing has been startup organization and seemed to have increase needed STEM majors like data science. Worrying things include acquired Kaplan and rebranded as Purdue Global. Every once in a while some person posts the subreddit if it is worth it, they responses are usually no

As I stayed home more during the beginning of the pandemic, I found an interesting documentary about magicians that debunk televangelists and psychics. We mostly believe what we need to believe" - Jamy Ian Swiss
