Putting a regen fiber tap inline doesn't cause ANY latency difference...it's all physical layer optics. I can sniff your frames all day and you'll never know anything about it.
It isn't easy being the parent of a six-year-old. However, it's a pretty small price to pay for having somebody around the house who understands computers.
