Comment How are SAG-AFTRA involved? (Score 2) 102

I'm guessing his membership has probably elapsed now. And I would be commending SAG-AFTRA had they chased down a company using a voice without paying anything to the estate of the deceased. But an agreement was made direct with the estate. Now, either the estate has an agreement with SAG-AFTRA, which they have broken and should be sued direct, or could this just be SAG-AFTRA wanting money for something they are not involved with at all?

XDAForum.com has Roms, and how to guides, for all sorts of old Android devices. I've updated a few devices via there. I've got an old Samsung Tab2 10.1 upgraded from Android 4 to Android 6 (it can do Android 8, but the camera breaks) letting me use it again for Netflix and Disney. They cover LG phones not on that list and can get you up to an Android version higher than any official version. I might dust off my LG G6 and give it a try later. Battery wise depends on aftermarket spares. You can still find new compatible batteries for that Samsung Tab2 and many other devices. I still have an old third gen Kindle (the one with the keyboard and 3G sim card) which I recently replaced the battery on. So, you can probably still get LG compatable batteries.

It seems to be the way. Sell your hardware with all the nice features, then start removing them from the user and demand money from them for the original functionality. Eg, I used to recomment YI cameras to people. Access from anywhere, free alerts, etc. Now, unless you pay, you have to sit through an advert before you can look at your camera footage. You have an alert someone could be breaking in, but sit through this game advert with playable level before you can check it.

I remember watching some program about it. I don't remember which craft or country it was but think there was a few crew in it. They had been sitting on the launchpad for ages and before they thought about adult nappies. Once one of them gave in and pissed themself (making their heart rate sensor go weird with the extra moisture) the others joined in. Would have been something in the early 80s

I never said those countries are uncivil. I said that calls for gun control get uncivil responses from many. Lets not pretend that the civilised country with the most gun deaths per person and an average of more than one mass shooting per day has guns for 'safety' and remember 'millitary-grade weapons' of the time where muskets where manual reloads of powder and shot took a few minutes between shots. But, yea, whine about a bit of paper from flint lock days while children live in fear and do active shooter drills. Want to talk about Scots? What happened post Dumblane? People gave up their guns so it wouldn't happen again, and it never has. And this is a post about kids and smartphones. I know which one would benifit kids more if better controls were brought in.

Exactly, There is a problem that metal detectors are helping with now. A better solution for that problem is required, but suggesting that would upset sooooo many people. There are many issues that we have had for a long time that phones are helping with. Dreadful lunchtime food in the school? Quick snap with the phone. Teacher saying very sexual things to children? A quick audio recording. Plus the more modern issues of alerting others about a school shooting and saying goodbye to your loved ones before they come to your classroom. All of those issues need better solutions, but ones we have are better than none. Plus, not everything is the same as when we were kids. Its an always on world now. Want to meet your mates? You had to plan a day in advance where you were all meeting and when. If you were late, it was game over as they have all moved somewhere else. Now, a quick message does it. I'm not saying kids with phones is a good idea or a bad one. I'm saying maybe theres a better way to fix than a blanket ban.
