Apparently in 30 years heâ(TM)s learned nothing. If heâ(TM)s being paid for his cyber security experience he ought to be fired. A simple call and he gave it all. As others have said and as I do, if someone calls me and wants me to verify any information, I ask for their name and employee number and call back to a well publicized phone number for that office or company. AND I didnâ(TM)t need 30 years of cyber security expertise to figure it out.

Comment Government harm (Score 1) 191

So what happens when government in it attempt to tax harm actually causes harm? How do we remedy that? A new law to fix the old law that may even cause more harm? An example; there is an alternative minimum tax in the US. It was passed in order to guarantee the very rich paid what was considered a âoefairâ amount of tax since other tax law gave them exemptions the regular folks couldnâ(TM)t take. Originally, in 1969, the government realized 155 citizens with high 6 figure incomes paid no tax because of all the deductions given them by the tax code. So congress passed the AMT to get them. The problem was it was never indexed for inflation. So the law that was meant to catch 155 people now catches millions and youâ(TM)ll never know until you do your tax. The first year I earned over $45,000 I got hit with AMT. Iâ(TM)d never heard of it before. Millions of middle class folks hadnâ(TM)t either. So a law to catch the wealthy had huge unintended consequences, except for the government that took more of your income. And, every so often they âoefixâ AMT again. So a law to fix the tax income law to catch people who pay no income tax actually harms millions of people. We should definitely put the government in the job of assessing harm.

The government takes about $200 billion dollars a month, of that $20 is debt service. That leaves $180 billion. They problem is that government spends more than it takes it. It's going to have to cut $150+ billion a month. Smaller government is not a bad thing. Also, Obama has no plan, he just criticizes other. And Obama says we all have to sacrifice, what about the 47% of tax payers who don't pay any? When are they going to sacrifice. The top 10% of taxpayers pay 70% of the taxes and 47% pay nothing. The is the travesty. This is a crisis created by Obama and the Democrats and their obsession to spend. Obama running up huge deficits and now blaming the conservatives who want to restore the financial credibility. Obama deserves all the negatives from this.

Blizzard Previews Revamped Battle.net 188

Blizzard updated the official StarCraft II site today with a preview of how the revamped Battle.net will function. They emphasize the social features, competitive matchmaking system, and the ease of sharing mods and maps. Quoting: "When the legacy Battle.net service introduced support for user-created mods such as DotA, Tower Defense, and many others, these user-created game types became immensely popular. But while Battle.net supported mods at a basic level, integration with tools and the mod community wasn't where it needed to be for a game releasing in 2010. The new Battle.net service will see some major improvements in this area. StarCraft II will include a full-featured content-creation toolkit — the same tools used by the StarCraft II design team to create the single-player campaign. To fully harness the community's mapmaking prowess, Battle.net will introduce a feature called Map Publishing. Map Publishing will let users upload their maps to the service and share them with the rest of the community immediately on the service. This also ties in with the goal of making Battle.net an always-connected experience — you can publish, browse, and download maps directly via the Battle.net client. Finding games based on specific mods will also be much easier with our all-new custom game system, placing the full breadth of the modding community's efforts at your fingertips."

Asus DR-570 E-Reader To Bring OLED Display 70

MojoKid writes "Reportedly, Asus will be introducing the DR-570 color eReader by the end of 2010, but it won't be just another one in the crowd. In fact, it just might be a game-changer. The reader will supposedly have a 6" screen, but rather than using e-ink like every other reader out there, this one will utilize a color OLED screen. Word is the unit will last a whopping 122 hours on a full charge. It should also be able to run Flash applications, download books over 3G to Wi-Fi, and most likely surf the web, unlike any other reader out there." Asus will be rolling out two other ebook reader models this year as well.

How can Apple users complain if Microsoft would change the protocol and break Exchange Support. I wonder if Palm would be so sympathetic to Apple's plight. I mean, who changed the Itune syncing so that Palm Pre's broke. Apple and MS are two peas in the same pod. And how laughable is it that Apple is benefiting OpenSource? LMAO. I don't know how much more benefiting I can take from apple. LOL
