The popular open source video editor, OpenShot, has less than 39 hours remaining on popular crowd-funding site, Kickstarter.com. The lead developer, Jonathan Thomas, has proposed a revolutionary new feature, which would allow users to offload CPU, memory, and disk cache to a local server (or multiple local servers), dramatically increasing the speed of previewing and rendering. The more servers added to the pool, the faster the video editing engine becomes (with the primary limitation being network bandwidth). If the final goal of $40k is reached in the remaining hours, this feature will be added to the next version of OpenShot.

I have read a good review about Google chrome on Linux. The summary of it that although Google Chrome is in a beta stage, it is fast, stable, and has a simple, clean, and effective GUI design. In other side, Google Chrome has a small numbers of extensions; doesn't support RSS, lake of integration with KDE, and it doesn't support complex scripts very well.
Personally, I didn't succeed to play flash player on Google Chrome beta 1 (I am using OpenSUSE 11.2) and I wonder how will be the quality of Google Chrome OS specially it bases on Linux and Google Chrome.

The last developer milestone ( DEV300m60) of OpenOffice.org has been released. The next version of OpenOffice.org 3.2 has more than 42 features and 167 enhancements . The final version is expected to be available at the end of November 2009.
Many companies have contributed to this version like RedHat , RedFlag and IBM, making OpenOffice more stable and useful. I couldn't stop myself from seeing new features and enjoying them. So I downloaded DEV300m60 version. After playing with it for many days I could say that OpenOffice developers have done very good work in it. Well done !
A sneak preview of new OpenOffice 3.2 : more secure , faster , easier and more international.
