SO lets see, CA apps collect data, sell it to an out of state agency, get a request to delete the data. Delete the data from their servers, then lease back the data from the out of state data providers. Problem solved. This is an interesting law but as long as its not at least national then its worthless. I am sure the company that make money on brokering my data are going to comply. Just like the hackers will remove my data. OH and by the way how do I know WHERE my data even is in CA to ask that they remove my data?

HP has been providing mini-pc/nooks for years. This is just another version. When most users are just web driven desk jocking running various web apps, why put a full PC on the desk.

EV in the US got where they are with government incentives, no "gas"/road taxes. Now the incentives are gone, EV are now paying road taxes. The care are expensive, have little resale value since batteries replacement is expensive. Overnight charging is difficult if you don't own a home. Renters and townhome owners have limited charging capabilities.

The big issue is going to be how broadly or loosely they define data brokers. Does a data broker with no presence in CA care what CA law is? How does a person know where their data even is? it appear you have to go to a every provider your self. I am sure they brokers are not going to make it easy. Another law that isnt going to work, This needs to be federal and define what can and cant be collected and or sold. Well DR been using software to help diagnose issues for years. They didnt call it AI and it was more code based as apposed to LLM. Given the correct training it might be useful cant be any worse than what doctors are doing without.

I would like to see a list of those AI replacements. Yes you can put AI on a contact us line and replace people but does the consumer get a better experience? I use to the press 1 for english 2 for spanish, NOW we need press 1 for human, 2 for robots. Short term replacement is easy, but lets wait until one of the AI bots really screw something up and the lawyers get involved.

Who is requesting the AI to generate code? that should be the submitter, not an AI bot. Who will be responsible for long term management of the code when it has issues.
