Watch "the social dilemma" on netflix. Regulate these highly profitable algorithms content suggestions with content profiles based on accuracy, inflammatory, depictive, divisive, etc. The higher the views the stricter the filter. If something gets extremely popular only keep suggesting it, to users not seeking it themselves, if it's high quality content. This requires government regulation because there's massive economic incentive to just keep suggesting enticing drama. With this approach anonymous freedom of speech is still alive and well and it doesn't do anything to slow anyone that's seeking content themselves. What it does do is limit the spread of unsolicited garbage to unsuspecting victims that are highly susceptible to the customized dramatic content. Also, these content suggestions are completely automated so limiting them can also be completely automated.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if all of the larger social media platforms already have this solution in place and ready to pivot to it and they're just waiting to implement it until all their competition is legally required to make the same change at the same time so that they don't lose market share. I think what is genuinely needed is not to figure out the solution but just to get enough social outcry to get the govt. to force social media to implement these less profitable solutions they already have.
