Comment Silent updates (Score 1) 495

The whole point is not rapid release, it's silent-updates! Mozilla got it all wrong, users hate updating. 4/5 of the people in this office will simply dismiss the update dialog, because they are annoyed by it. Microsoft understood that with automatic installs as well, unless you disable them. Google understood that as well with Chrome. Nobody cares about the version number except developers.

"Global prosperity"... When every chinese family will have two SUVs parked in front of their house, the air will be so polluted you'll be buying bottles of oxygen at your local grocery. The western way of living is not substainable for our planet. You need slaves somewhere.

I think you're funny saying that you "invested" money. WoW is not an investment, it's entertainment. I hope you had fun, otherwise, you should seek help.

Nobody is forcing you to pay and yes, they are making money. You work for the same reason.

I don't pay games at 60$ either, but I'm not complaining, they're not getting my money.

Submission + - What NAS to buy?

An anonymous reader writes: Currently, I'm running an old 4u Linux server for my private backup and storage needs. I could add new drives, but it's just way too bulky (and only IDE). For the sake of size and power efficiency I think about replacing it with a NAS solution, but cannot decide which one to get. The only requirements I have are capacity (>1.5TB) and RAID5. Samba/FTP/USB is enough. Since manufacturers always claim their system to be the best, I'd like to hear some suggestions from you Slashdot readers.
