Cyber-Scammers Steal €50 Million From Austrian Airplane Manufacturer (softpedia.com) 39

An anonymous reader writes: FACC Operations GmbH, an Austrian company that produces various airplane parts for companies like Airbus and Boeing, has announced a cyber-incident during which cyber-fraudsters managed to steal around €50 million from their bank accounts. While CEO Fraud attacks manage to steal a few thousand dollars here and there, never has a company lost so much cash liquidity in one incident. Stock price took a tumble immediately.

RMS Objects To Support For LLVM's Debugger In GNU Emacs's Gud.el 551

An anonymous reader writes with the news that Richard Stallman is upset over the prospect of GNU Emacs's Grand Unified Debugger (Gud.el) supporting LLVM's LLDB debugger. Stallman says it looks like there is a systematic effort to attack GNU packages and calls for the GNU Project to respond strategically. He wrote his concerns to the mailing list after a patch emerged that would optionally support LLDB alongside GDB as an alternative debugger for Emacs. Other Emacs developers discounted RMS' claims by saying Emacs supports Windows and OS X, so why not support a BSD-licensed compiler/debugger? The Emacs maintainer has called the statements irrelevant and won't affect their decision to merge the LLDB support.

Submission + - PC Makers Say Vista Is Not a Seller

TekkaDon writes: According to computer and component manufacturers, Vista is not the hotcake that they were hoping for. Take Acer's president, Gianfranco Lanci, who has just said that "PC makers are really not counting on Vista to drive high demands for the industry." Or Samsung Electronics, who now says that DRAM demand has not matched anyone's predictions based on Vista's now failed projections, something that is being echoed by the industry as a whole. This seem to agree with Ars Technica article on the 20 million Vista copies sold as a "huge success" by Microsoft, which just can be accounted by the natural growth of PC sales over the years. (BTW, apparently, this story has been buried in Digg by a big group of MS-sponsored trolls)
