Diamond was a nightmare to use (Score 2)

I have a small book distribution business and have purchased books from dozens of book publishers for decades. It is very simple and streamlined. About two years ago, a good customer of mine asked me to get them a few thousand comics. Only place to get them was Diamond. The amount of roadblocks to set up an account, the ridiculous steps to even find out availability, and the three or four steps to place an order were crazy. I had two representatives call me when I had questions. They both read from a script and babbled on with rules and arcane details for 15 minutes each. I'd ask a simple question, then they'd start reading their script again. It was a nightmare dealing with this company. The billing was confusing as hell, the shipping was opaque, the whole experience was unlike anything I've experienced before. I for one think they deserve to go bankrupt.
