What about radio communications? The Chinese are burrowed in to that market like a tick, I know of many municipal, state, and quasi-municipal/state departments that use Chinese radios from companies like Hytera, instead of USA made Kenwood and Motorola, due to price. If you are going to declare economic warfare on a country, why not target all potential threat vectors.

Back in HS 25+ years ago, they passed them out in math class for assignments as needed. You could also check them out for homework, or buy your own. My parents bought me one (TI-81), new, as I was going to need it for classes all through high school. Now, as I support HS teachers, they all use Wabbit or other TI emulators on the school issued laptops, or the students use their smart phones.

Back in the early to mid 90s I ran my own Sendmail server at home on an "unlimited" business dial-up account. Over the years it became more and more of a PITA, having to update DNS constantly with a dynamic IP (this was before DynDNS services), keeping the Linux box and dial-up up. Then when I moved to Cable Modems, the fun with port blocking. Now a days I just have my e-mail and other public facing services hosted with a reputable hosting provider. If i ever get the itch to run a server again I can have them add a VPS to my account.

This so SO not news, my current and previous two iPhones couldn't stand temps in the 40s for more than a few minute, before they started complaining it was "Too Cold" and stopped working. Took at least 10 minutes at 60-70 degrees to get it back to a working warm temp.
