just came across this in my old cs50 textbook, harley hahn's student guide to unix...

"perhaps the best definition of unix - and the one we would like you to remember as you read this book - is the following:

unix is a set of tools for smart people."

what about stupid people?

what if someone dumb tries to use it? It took me 50 minutes to get 5 lines of bash script to work the other night.

why do you think i was looking in my cs50 book in the first place? i haven't had to use a unix command in 4 years...
