Comment Consumer Credit Act... (Score 1) 718
One thing far too many people in the UK are seemingly unaware of (in general, not so much here!) is just how much protection you get by paying with a credit card..
Apart from the norm of around 56 days interest free (usually the month it's bought + the time till the payment is due (around 3 to 4 weeks later) assuming you pay it off every month). The 1974 Consumer Credit act covers all payments (made with the credit card) from £100 to £30,000, so if the goods don't turn up, and you get no joy from the supplier, or the company goes bust, or a myriad of other issues, you can chase the credit card company as they are jointly liable.
Add to this cash-back schemes, point, rewards, etc. and what is there not to like about credit cards!
More to the point (as mentioned in other posts), why use debit cards where you use (or should that be lose!) the money almost immediately
