I was a big fan of VR when Valve Index came out, as far as I'm concerned it's the best home cardio machine ever invented. It's a good idea, but the initial (post-oculus) energy got sucked out of the market by facebook selling their hardware at a loss to win marketshare only to then spend all their resources on the abject failure of their metaverse and basically kill the entire field. Apple's vision (ha) for VR doesn't appeal to me as much.

Having cultural exchange at the university level is a long-standing and generally successful strategy to unify the world. I think people just didn't expect China to be quite so ungrateful about it. As for competition - I don't think the people running academia feel personally affected by it.

Neither or both depending on your definition, they're just normal computers with steam installed. And by normal I mean thinkpad for laptops and custom built for desktops without any gaudy RGB gamer nonsense.
