The Far Side always cracked me up, LOL. My mother sent me "Wiener Dog Art" when I was sitting in the desert during Operation Desert Shield. That book got passed around the entire tent city.
In other late breaking news, wolves in some western states have been accused of purchasing sheep's clothing. When asked for comment one wolf barked, "we are purchasing 'cheap' clothing, nothing to see here."
That's right, you ass hat tech bros created this mess. Tech companies need to be put on a leash now before it's too late.
"Technically" most types of plastics are recyclable but with limits. I was the sysadmin for a plastics company in the 90's. The owner, an absolutely brilliant man, used to like to shoot the shit with me now and then. He said, even back then, that recycling plastic was way too cost prohibitive to even consider. He would get in the chemistry of the whole thing and the molecular bonds and such which break down with things like UV, etc.. He said the plastics industry knew this all along and the plastics recycling campaigns at the time were a sham meant to deflect from the real issue.
Spreading dark matter sounds so yummy indeed, and all it took was a black hole to find it.
That pretty much sums up the plastics industry when it comes to recycling over the last 50+ years.
I trust these three to be about as honest and upfront about future plans as I do a drug addict guarding drugs from other drug addicts.

Spectrum tried that crap with me about 10 years ago. The first thing I do when a new router is installed by an ISP is to go in and change the default password. From there I may go through settings and change other things as I see fit. The last time Spectrum installed a new router I could not access it (they changed the login credentials but did not supply me with them). When I called to get access they told me I was not allowed. I informed them that I would be reporting this behavior to my state's AG and was soon elevated to another level of tech help and given the password to get into the router IN MY HOUSE.
Parents need to take some ownership of this issue. My kids were not allowed full Internet access or a cell phone until they were 16 (they are now currently 24 and 25). They rarely use social media because as my one son puts it, "it's a retard fest wrapped in dogged poo." It also helps that I or my wife have never used FB, Instagram, TicTac, etc..I always preached to them that "social media" was actually anti-social in nature and not to get wrapped up in it's BS.
I found this little tidbit of information here: https://industrialcyber.co/cri...
"Currently, the FCC has the authority to revoke existing equipment authorizations under specific circumstances, but lacks a clear mechanism to rescind authorization solely because the vendor has been designated on the Covered List. This authority is limited to cases involving technical non-compliance, false statements or misrepresentation in the application, failure to meet technical requirements following subsequent testing or inspections, or unauthorized changes to the equipment that were not originally approved by the Commission. "
Perhaps installing OpenWRT is the answer here? I just checked their table of hardware and see that in TP-Link's case almost 200 routers are supported.
My fiber ISP places TP-Link routers in the home. Millions of routers installed by ISPs are going to need replaced too.
"All due respect to Microsoft, do you really want Microsoft controlling digital superintelligence?"
Yes please! It's guaranteed to fail if this happens, a blessing in disguise.
