Dang, even my post about my offtopic response being insightful since the parent (at the time) was marked as a troll didn't get a laugh. Should I just change my sig to be "I AM JOKING DAMMIT"??? Or is offtopic the way some people mod something they think isn't funny?

I know I rarely use my mod points for funny posts - unless the humor is on topic (and not the "mandatory Simpson quote" kind of humor). I prefer to mod up comments I find interesting or insightful (leaving the down-modding of troll, flamebait, and off-topic comments to others).

It all came to me, one time when I had mod points. I was concerned that the metamods might not understand the context of my moderation, and that perhaps I should not do what I wanted to do with my mod points.
