I'm liking the look of this all-in-one printer/scanner/fax/copier thingamajigger. And it even has built in network capabilities, so that even when I am on linux I can print/scan

I've not used this model, but I've used other HP wireless AIO's recently, and they seem to work splendidly.
Caveat: I didn't have the chance to try them in a Linux environ of any sort, so YMMV there, but with the Win32 XP and Vista world, it was great.
Second Caveat: The computers the printer were connected to all had the wonder^H malodorous software that is HP's primary interface with most of it's AIO's nowadays, so that POS reeks. Perhaps Win7 or Ubu would do better?

I have the next model down? Don't know what the relation is, but I've got an OfficeJet j6400 all-in-one. I've had it for most of this year. It's at home, doesn't get too much use. Mostly for kid's school projects and a bit of text printing here and there.
It is very convenient to have the wireless built in.
The scanner is o.k. - nothing great. I have not used the fax functionality. The print quality is o.k. for what we do with it.
One reason I bought it is that it will print out to the edge of the paper,

I have an OfficeJet 6310 All-in-One. I like it and the neat thing is that the web interface allows the use of the scanner from any web browser. It prints rather nicely and has optional tri-color photo cartridge (lt C, lt M, K).
