Journal nizo's Journal: Disappointment and hope 4
Well, I ended up going to the book signing, and the author didn't show up. However, the illustrator did show up, and basically he and I chatted for about 45 minutes. The guy is awesome, and has some great work. He is just starting out so hopefully this will give his career a boost. His day job is construction, but just talking to him I picked up on the "must do art" vibe. I told him not to smash his fingers at work and that I really liked his art
Hopefully I will get a chance to meet the author at a later date, and nothing bad has happened to her

The list of people doing what they have to do instead of what they want to do is a long one indeed. I am very much rooting for you to scratch that artistic itch. If nothing else with your daughter and (in)significant other gone, you should be able to get some pretty good art done. I found the pic BTW, so check your gmail account in a bit.

The artist who did most of the work (but ironically, not the cover of that book, which was done by the author) is Benton Yazzie. A very cool and personable guy, and his art is awesome
