At work yesterday I got about 5 more projects to work on. I'm not exactly sure how big they think my plate is, but it's quite full now. I've got to say though, I'd rather be strung out busy than bored and looking for something to do. Oddly enough, Jonathan (the big boss) came in to my cube yesterday and shared - gasp - personal information about himself. I knew his having a baby would chill him out. He seems like a really nice guy actually, once you get to know him and get comfortable with him. I guess he used to work on the Star Wars project during the Reagan Years. Little did I know that the laser wasn't meant to burn the missle up, but the initial slap of such a powerful ray of light would actually break the skin of the missle and cause it to crash. Unfortunately, they only got so far as to be able to make a "thwapping" sound on a piece of paper. Actually, that's as far as he *told* me they got. Hmm...

And it seems that my student staff members have not shown up on time yet again, so I'm stuck in the computer lab babysitting 100 empty machines. Summer here is so slow. Luckily I've got some good projects to work on now. I have to implement Heat Self Service (our HD software) and fix iHeat. Anyone going with FrontRange Solutions might want to think twice. They have two standard responses to problems with their products. 1. Reboot your server. 2. I'm not sure what you're talking about. Annoying to say the least. Anyhow, life is okay because I finally got the go-ahead to remove some Windows PCs and throw in some FC2 into the mix. Now I just have to figure out how to set up an NIS server and the clients, and I should be good to go. I checked out tldp.org, and the documentation on NIS wasn't so hot. If anyone's got some ideas, give me a shout.
