Submission + - Man Arrested for taking photo of open ATM (iamshane.com)

net_shaman writes: Seattle man arrested for taking photo of ATM being serviced.

From the link:
"Today I was shopping at the downtown Seattle REI. I was about to buy a Thule hitch mount bike rack. They were out of the piece that locks the bike rack into the hitch. So I was in the customer service line to special order one. It was a long line and while I was waiting, I saw two of guys (employees of Loomis, as I later learned) refilling the ATM.

I walked over and took a picture with my iPhone of them and more interestingly of the open ATM. I took the picture because I'm fascinated by the insides of things that we don't normally get to see..."

Comment Brunton Solaris panels (Score 1) 1

First of all it really sucks that our young men and women still have to
go to that awful place.

As an ex army medic, I hope he comes home safely.

I've used Brunton Solaris panels on long journeys.

This past summer I carried two Solaris 6 panels on a 9 day cycling trip.

Although one panel would have sufficed, I usually used them in parallel
to speed up charging.

My needs were light, a cell phone that charged via USB and a AA battery
charger.

A Solaris 26 & a 12v Auto charger for the video
camera should do the trick. Most of the Solaris panels have a socket
for 12v Auto charger.

Brunton's site has more details.

I bought mine from REI.

Sierra Soar has an amazingly great
price.

Submission + - solar power pre-deployment to Afghanistan? 1

dAzED1 writes: "My little brother is heading for training at 29 Palms as a Navy Corpsman with FMF. He gets a [Sailor|Soldier|Marine]'s pay, so while he can't afford gadgets, I can; since he'll be in a LAR unit, I was thinking of getting him a small video camera, an IPod, and some sort of solar recharger. Whatever he takes he'll have to be able to carry in his pack, which is already going to be heavy with his medic gear.

Other than the weight issue, I am having problems finding a solar recharger that doesn't get wildly differing reviews as to basic quality. He'll have plenty of sun, few clouds, but it needs to be light, effective, and robust. With price not being much of a concern, what would you suggest for accomplishing this? Advice on a small robust video camera would be appreciated as well."

The author is obviously another right-wing nut who believes that the mainstream media has a "liberal" bias.
Oh and the evil little sh*t who crashed his plane helped many Republicans break Federal record keeping laws. That's a fact.
It's also probably the tip of the iceburg, wait a few years till the investigations get rolling and more Bush-Cheney crimes come to light.

Haven't you all seen Bush tell a reporter why he doesn't use email; "..it might be used in an investigation.."

I'm sure he was an indispensable TOOL for the Fascists who now run the Republican Party.

No decent American would morn his death.
