With all the hype and FUD surrounding HDTV I am not quite sure that I want to shell out the money for one. Yeah the picture is cool but is it worth the price. With talks of DRM from the MPAA and the RIAA and ABC, NBC, and _________ (fill in your fav broadcast network/ media provider) I do not think I want to get locked into something that I will not have the freedom to use. Just think if everyone has an HDTV. There are talks of not being able to hook up a PVR or VCR to it. I might not be able to record my episode of SG-1 because the powers that be think I will put it on the internet for all to see. I am not sure that the digitization of TV is in the best interest of the end user or of the media giants to control more of what I watch and/or record for my personal use. Well I guess we will see.

Journal Journal: Today is another day at the office

Well last night I finally got KDE installed on my redhat machine. I am not a linux newbie at all. I do not claim to know everything. If I did it would not have taking me over a week and one reinstall to get 3.1 installed on my machine. I can say this RedHat does make it difficult to install damn near anything on it unless you compile from source. I know that a lot of the slashdot community runs debian and I wish I could say that I was that elite but for now I will stick with my RH8.0
