An anonymous reader writes: Stan Lee Media and The Walt Disney Co take their arguments to the U.S. Court of Appeals today over who owns the rights (and profits) to Marvel characters. Though Disney bought Marvel in 2009, Stan Lee Media (no longer associated with Stan Lee, himself) still claims copyright of the characters.

Submission + - OpenBSD Drops Support For Loadable Kernel Modules

jones_supa writes: Interestingly the OpenBSD developers have decided to remove support for loadable kernel modules from the BSD distribution's next release. Several commits earlier this month stripped out the loadable kernel modules support from OpenBSD. Phoronix's Michael Larabel has scoured around but has not yet found an official reason for the operating system dropping the support. He wagers that it is due to security or code quality/openness ideals.

This deal charges £8 per gigabyte, which is less than half the cost of the satellite uplinks they currently use. So the £8 million cost of this package might even result in savings for some organizations."

GOCE Satellite Is Falling To Earth But Nobody Knows Where It Will Land 122

Virtucon writes "The Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer or GOCE Satellite is expected to fall to Earth this weekend. It weighs over a ton and unfortunately the Scientists don't exactly know where it will land. You can track it here. It should re-enter sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. Makr Hopkins, chair of the National Society's Executive Committee said: 'The satellite is one of the few satellites in a Polar Orbit. Consequently, it could land almost anywhere.' The GOCE mission was to create an accurate gravity map of the Earth."
