That word "lawyers" always annoys me. I'm Canadian and although not a Newfoundlander I find much to admire about them, especially the way they pronounce the word "lawyer". In Newfie it is pronounced as it should be. "Liar".

I waited all day trying to forget this comment but I can't. Sorry to be so blunt but this is an incredibly stupid statement. What earthly good is knowing your enemies plans if you can do nothing about them? In terms of the "Battle of Britain" it was only the RAF ( your Spitfire pilots and observer crews ) with a great deal of support from radar and the British command and control systems (Fighter Command) which prevented an invasion. Bletchly added very little to this particular battle and this particular battle was, arguably, the turning point in the war.

The point of Mr. Geist' article isn't that it is a new tactic, what he has done is expose all the links between the groups and their citations. Not that any politician gives a damn but maybe he can teach a few more "citizens" about how politics works.

Actually a "Good Capitalist" is one who can hire LOTS of lobbyists.

I think Niven and Pournelle can claim "prior art" on this one since they claim to be responsible for the collapse of the Soviet Union by advising Reagan to go ahead with the horribly expensive Star Wars initiative. Can't remember which of his books mentioned it in the footnotes.
