Also check out jedit. IIRC it has what you're looking for. Actually, I discovered it right after I bought BBEdit and was SO angry with myself. It's my editor of choice on Windows as well.

I always took people seriously when they complained about the foibles of /.'s moderation system, and now it is my turn to complain. Just because a mod singled out one of my comments as redundant on the (very new) thread, I am now suffering with bad karma. Some guy stole the thoughts out of my head and posted three seconds before me, and somehow I am supposed to have prevented that. Now all my comments start as +0 and I don't even see the point in commenting anymore.

The article states that the device was set at 1 frame per second initially. The first part of page 4 states then they would "...gradually work the frame speed up...".

The first version of this device installed in Jerry 20 years ago could acheive at least 4 FPS, so this version should be faster.
