As a society, we have come across a phenomenon that we're not sure about. Is the world temperature rising, and the problem man made; or, is this just another cycle of the world as is? We don't definitively know the answer to that question, but I lean towards the side of caution. Rational thought leads me to believe that we are causing the Earth to have a significantly higher percentage of CO2 in the air than there was previously: we are cutting down trees and polluting water that has in the past filtered out the CO2, while at the same time putting an increasing amount of CO2 in the air with our increasing industrialization worldwide.
Even if this turns out to not be the case, and we're not causing any problems, what is the harm in slowing down our pollution and thinking rationally about our future as a race? The whole fight between the people who believe in Climate Change and the people who don't is childish. Take a few years, and figure out what's going on. This is something that the whole world is discussing, yet it seems that America is the only country making a big stink about it. Think about people first, and money later, then we can finally solve real problems.
