If you can't operate it without looking away from what's outside the windscreen it is dangerous.

Wait until you learn what most people do to check their speed, know their fuel level, and check if their engine is operating correctly.

What, see the speed in the HUD (it changes colour if it's above a certain tolerance to the limit) or see an alert if low on fuel or an engine fault? Whatever you may think through ignorance of the subject, good design does exist.

I twice (5 years apart) rejected both Volvo and Tesla in favour of BMW with the physical controls being a major part of the decision.Porsche was my only other consideration and again, they get ergonomics for a driver. Voice controls aren't perfect and frankly when driving I want to control many things WITHOUT needing to devote unnecessary brain power or focus on it.

It happens in government too, nothing unique with âoebig businessâ. itâ(TM)s just the general result of rules requiring that roles are advertised, of meeting quotas and targets etc when the reality is that many jobs are stitched up before the advert is even written. My organisation is notionally working to a hybrid model, but with a minimum of 3 days a week in office - days decided by each team. The issue is that all the productivity gains of the past 2 years arenâ(TM)t being compensated for. Most people now lose 9-10 hours minimum to travel. Everyone loses some time to distractions (only now do we realised how little work some other departments have that they spend their time roaming around to âoesay hiâ. Tellingly, we are finding ourselves still having Teams meetings while sitting in the office as itâ(TM)s easier to screen share than huddle around an individual desk or squint at a large screen in a meeting room that had to be booked. For many, there is only downside to the ahortsightedness of âoemandatingâ a flexible hybrid. I now need more staff but donâ(TM)t expect to get them.
