not quite right guys... McNamara has documented that US Airforce wanted to bomb Cuba as pre emptive strike because US intelligence was faulty. Cuba already had missiles with nuclear war heads ready to launch. In a discussion with Castro, it was revealed that Castro would have launched his missiles on US if he saw a bombing raid. US Airforce thought the missiles were not ready!! Secondly enemies can setup false intel trails... always catches out the arrogant. Lastly, once exposed, that you can spy on your allies ...trust is gone forever! I mean for ever... Trust is powerful political weapon, its loss is a great loss

I was once advised by Philip Agee that if you are a social activist the worst thing you can do is worry excessively about surveillance. If you make too much effort to avoid surveillance yo will fail to make any social change and therefore give them victory without a fight. A just cause was never stopped by surveillance e.g. fall of apartheid, civil rights movement in US etc
