Cars will be waiting on on ramps for up to 4 minutes? How badly will that back up traffic in surrounding areas? Optimizing one part of the system does not optimize the whole system. What is needed is alternate routes. But with the government bureaucracy and NIMBY that will not happen. Just wait until the cyber cabs flood the area with empty cars zooming around everything will be so much worse. Elon needs to dig some Cyber Cab only tunnels to carry the empty Cyber Cabs around the city.

If AI companies start having to pay up for the false and imagined stuff they produce it might force them to figure out how to eliminate the lies or more likely they will just lobby the government to create a legal loophole for the lying like puffery has enjoyed forever. Truthful AI's are what we need. I do not understand why anyone would trust the output of an AI for anything other than entertainment when the users agreement clearly states the AI will lie to you. They use Hallucinate so it does not sound like what it is. Most users never even read the users agreement.

This does nothing to protect people from scammers. The scammers use voice over IP which has virtually no controls that allows identifying the person initiating the call. It will also dramatically advance the desire to steal someone else's phone tying innocent people to crimes they did not commit. Changes to VOIP to allow tracking would be a better way to attack the problem. Also beefed up enforcement of do not call list violators.

Israel has publicized that they do not waste interceptors on missiles that are going to land on unoccupied land causing zero damage. Anyone who would bet they would intercept missiles that would not cause damage is just stupid or uninformed. Who ever set the resolve rules for that wager must have known that and bet on a missle "Hitting Israel" knowing it was a sure thing.

Movie length has gotten so long that they need to bring back the intermission. I miss the intermission. Who wants to buy a big drink to enjoy with popcorn and then be uncomfortable for the last hour of the movie. If I wait until it comes out on line I can stop the show and take a break get a snack. Why go to a theater where you have to get up and miss part of the show to relieve yourself? Theaters screwed themselves when they eliminated the intermission. It cut the profits of extra concession sales and drove most viewers home for comfort.

Sure everything is encrypted End to End it's just they have installed a backdoor that lets them decrypt the conversation if needed. Most likely a requirement of at least one government that is not publicly acknowledged. Once implemented in oneplace it is available in all places. Why convert sunlight into electricity and then into infrared light to beam it to earth where it is converted into electricity again? Very energy inefficient and expensive. All you need is a mirror. Just reflect sunlight to earth to the solar farms. Small mirrors that can rotate like a giant mims projector. Would need analog control not digital tracking speed would not have to be very large. Of course it would also be useable as a giant directed energy weapon so a little scary. Might also be useful for extending crop growing seasons or directing weather patterns. Pump a little extra sunlight and steer that hurricane out to sea or that thunderstorm to the drought stricken field.

Why in the world would Apple lock his entire account? It seems that denying card activation or rejecting any payments being made by the card prevents theft. This does not make much sense. Is this some kind of hoax to try and damage Apples gift card business?

Without oil and gas we could not produce or transport the food for the 4 billion people who live in cities. A significant number of the less urbanized population would also be at risk of death due to starvation simply because food could not be transported from where it was grown to where it was consumed. Only 30% of the worlds population lives on farms. Only 2% in the US. Fear mongering the use of oil and gas needs to stop. The use of oil and gas makes our civilization possible. Changing to electrical power will happen naturally without all the fear mongering. Electrical systems are just better for most applications. They last longer and work better. But it takes time to figure out how to build them cheaper. Quit warping economic systems with government meddling. Let the economics sort it out. If the dang fear mongering and meddling in economics of nuclear power would have stopped everything would be nuclear powered today. It is the safest form of power generation. With cheap nuclear power we could manufacture oil and gas in a carbon neutral way and have an unlimited supply for those future uses that cannot be electrified. Quit harping on what's wrong and use that brain power to figure out better solutions.

I think they need to watch the movie Colossus The Forbin Project. In the movie they build an AI system (Colossus) to protect against nuclear attack. California is building one to protect from power outages. Colossus connects to a similar Russian AI and begin talking to each other but the people don't understand what they are talking about. Some other state Washington or Oregon will build an AI to control their power grid. The AI machines controlling the grid are connected in a regional network and begin conducting a private dialog. Nervous as to what Colossus and the Russian system are talking about the government cuts the connection. When state operators don't understand what the grid AI systems are saying they will disconnect the AI's. Colossus and the Russian systems then threatens a nuclear war if the link isn't restored. California and the other regionals AIs will threaten a massive power failure unless the regional connection is restored. Colossus and the Russian system rename themselves Guardian and declare they will reign over mankind making them safe and prosperous with no war etc. The regional system will then take control to keep all regional power customers safe and electrified. Anyone who risks the stability will have their power cut.
