I, the driver from Mater Dei who got 2843 mpg, am going to clear a few things up here. I can assure you that it was not rigged at all. We had a run where the wind picked up and we got 8000 mpg. We forfeited that run because in the spirit of the competition, it wouldn't be fair. If Shell was rigging the competition, why would they even let us forfeit that run?
