aka... won the lottery. using chatgpt to generate random numbers is the same as rolling dice (probably less random actually.) dumb headline, dumb person, and now even more dumb people probably reading shit like this thinking chatgpt is an oracle. keep in mind - 54% of the US reads below a 6th grade level. chatgpt is like a god damned genius compared to most americans already. they probably think its a god already. i can't wait for the cults.

we're taking away agency of people by implying that an LLM will make them do bad things. People need to understand LLM hallucinations are an issue. If they don't understand that then it doesn't matter which one they use. the workplace should not provide them if their employees don't understand this. I see constant stories about lawyers submitting fake LLM generated court cases, those lawyers should be punished because they are still accountable for their work. if you're talking about how much the model hallucinates, that's important about the quality of the model, if you're "red teaming" and getting it to say "naughty" things. It's not relevant and its just a parlor trick.

is it also dangerous to give employees access to google? why is this different. I hate these stories and these guys are just trying to make a name for themselves with a BS AI "jailbreak" headline.

It cant even remember the moves played and frequently has to be corrected about where the pieces are. This headline implies that carlsen did something other than being funny. He knows chatGPT is not a chess computer. proper chess software even running on a shitty old cpu could beat him easily.

this AI race is making windows nearly unusable from a privacy perspective. it constantly breaks things too if you try to opt out and disable things.

most appliances just add a dummy mode that is on by default and operates and way worse performance to game the system. ever see a friends TV that they didn't bother disabling the eco mode and it just super dark and you can't see things properly? also receivers often have a default "eco mode" that just throttles power and makes it perform badly when your speakers put on a demanding load. Its just gaming the system in a lot of cases and they're just bullshitting to get the rating.

I hate these headlines saying "scientists say they brought back dire wolf" (see wired). This is giving science such a bad name. this is a PR stunt by a startup that obviously has no morals or integrity.
