I'd like the class to help determine what the topic for essay 4 should be. Remember, Essay 4 is a claim of policy essay, a big research project. So it should answer the question "What should we (or someone else) do?" We've already discussed traffic enforcement and fast food lawsuits. What issues interest you? Post at least one comment by the end of this week suggesting a topic.

  • I think that free child care should be provided at all work places so that new mothers, especially single mothers can still work and make money.
  • I think a good topic for the next essay is that states should have a lottery which sends kids to college for free when they have good grades
  • I think the topic for essay 4 should cocern the large amounts of social programs which are unfunded mandates to the states and which programs work and which ones don't.
  • I think essay 4 should have to do with cloning- is it right, should the government allow it, and steps that could be taken to promote/stop it.
    • I think i'm supposed to come up with my own topic, but I really like this one. I think cloning would be very interesting topic to research. Cloning is something we have heard about but we don't really know much about it. So I think cloning would be a good topic.
    • I have to agree, cloneing seems to be a good topic to talk about as any and brings up many different sides and viewpoints that can be discussed.
  • I believe we should discuss the way parents discipline children. When do you draw the line, what is child abuse?
  • I think we should all be able to discuss a different topic, rather than everyone writing on the same thing. We could discuss cloning.
  • I think for essay four we should discuss the death penalty. Is it wrong or right? Is it both under certain circumstances?
  • I think the topic for essay 4 should be about divorce and child custody
  • Are preemptive strikes on other countries to prevent terrorism a good thing.
  • I think we should discuss capital punishment
  • How about a topic on morals or lack there of on American society, or if you really want to do reasearch, compare morals in the USA and Europe.
