need to change debate to why the tax (Score 1)

I know that any form of freedom is immediately attacked by by collectivists but I think we need to change the debate from what to tax to why tax at all. I mean we are running a surplus now and don't need the revenue. The feds and states combined are already confiscating around 50% of our earnings. Isn't that enough. We need to argue against the tax rather than concede it is a done deal and simply fall back on what to tax. The purpose of taxation is to raise needed revenue not to control commerce. We need to rethink our discussion.
