All very good points, in addition they feel the need to never have silence, so there is a continuous music or natural sound bed that just adds to the confusion in the sound.

I'd also blame the sound quality of the built in TV speakers, you just can't replace front firing cone(s) that require a proper enclosure with the noise generators that are behind the screen.
