This statement strikes me as sloppy thinking. The only assertion is an opinion: "The poor here in the US are better off". "2 jobs at 60 hours a week and unable to afford food." Presumably this means 2 minimum wage jobs, each of which are, by design, just under 40 hours per week. clearly this person can afford food for them alone. Is it a liveable wage? That is another question entirely.

From the article, 'Dr. Fossum predicts that each soldier will carry a syringe into combat zones or remote areas, and medic teams will be equipped with several. A single injection will minimize metabolic needs, de-animating injured troops by shutting down brain and heart function. Once treatment can be carried out, they'll be "re-animated" and — hopefully — as good as new.' If it doesn't pan out we can at least get zombie bacon and spam."

I see a lot of comments about what seems to be only a hypothetical question at this point. What school did this occur at? Why don't I see any references on the web that don't link back to this slashdot story?
