The San Diego Unified School District is removing all ipad's, iphone's, mac computers and laptops from all school's and Administrative offices. We will be replacing the iphone's form Administration with Android phones, the Tablets with either Nexus 7 devices or Galaxy Tab's. The apple desktops and laptops will be replaced with Windows devices. My company expects to have this completed by summer 2013 so I am not suprised to read this story. My company does approximately 50% of our business replacing apple products with Android and Windows. Businesses are realizing that apple products are overpriced toys and upgrading to Android and Windows is the solution 99% of our projects end up going with.

You are spot on. We have over 3000 employees and I just finished having my IT guys clear out any apple products including iphone's. If I see one on my network, I take it and throw it away.

I am at CES as we speak and motorola demo'd xoom and stated it will be avail march 1st. I called my verizon rep and they confirmed. No one will comment on price other than it will be less than ipad by a lot. $300?? ;)

Awesome job making your daughter the smartest girl in school for running linux. It does not make her "the oddball" it makes her the smartest for choosing linux and not paying the apple tax (apple is just a GUI ontop of linux anyway). Linux and android blow away mac by a factor of 100.

i bought one today but after a few hours, took it back. i see no reason or purpose for it. I have a droid, best phone/os combo ever. i have a win7 laptop that is faster than any mac laptop. all cost significantly less than apple products. it just doesnt do anything that my droid and laptop dont already do. why waste $800 for something that wont be used? windows tablets never caught on for same reason, they are not needed.

I am glad that they finally stepped up and acknowledged the need for a national ID card. Hopefully once every state adopts this, (and they will), then we can stop the illegal immigration and kick out all of the illegal immigrants whether they be from turkey, france, canada or mexico. This is the only way to stop them. Now we just need to put up a electric fence at the border.
