In response to this they could do something that would make the DRM agencies proud, or they could do something that would make this console the biggest success since the Amiga homecomputer. "And what is that", you say ? Do what Ken Kutaragi or what his name was, said in the first place... "MAKE IT TOTALLY OPEN" - release every spec, for graphics systems and everything, and send ten consoles to the AmigaOS4, MorphOS, and AROS devteams... So they could do some real magic on a open console !! But I guess they would be sued into oblivion, even Sony, thats how far the DRM infested world has come ..... Damn DRM, damn it to hell ! And damn the virii also.. Due to viruses and computer crime we probably will end up NEEDING hardware DRM .... Or how will we do our online banking .....

All I have to say is compare the demoscene for the Amiga and the PC of that time .. To see which was technically superior ..... And as the other poster said, PCs might have had static graphics that were good, but as a person living back then I know for a fact that PCs were a joke compared to the Amiga atleast until 91-92.. And even after that the Amiga were better on a lot of things .. Even now it has stuff going for it .. DAMN COMMODORE !! They killed the Amiga with their bad management .....

"Side By Side Assemblies" Bring DLL Hell 2.0 433

neutrino38 writes "This is an alert for all developers using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. At the beginning of January, Microsoft issued a security fix for Visual Studio 2005 forcing the use of new dynamic libraries (DLLs) by all applications compiled with this IDE. Basically, applications compiled with Visual Studio 2005 will not work anymore on an ordinary (non-dev) PC unless the newer DLLs are installed. And we found out that this is true on fully updated PCs. I just posted some details and some suggested fixes." Read below for some more background on Microsoft's so-called "side by side assemblies."
