I mean, it *really* sucks. Ok so we all know a lot of stuff made by Microsoft sucks. But today i discovered the joys of the windows live update thingie. They flushed *all* my emails from *all* my accounts. Great upgrade! I was keeping these accounts because i had a few emails in there that i kind of wanted to keep. Well, now's the time to use other email services. I've been hating hotmail more and more every time they changed the whole interface since i subscribed in the mid nineties.

Microsoft's totally lost it with Vista, Office 2007 and all their new crap software. Lots of other companies are making interesting software, better use those or use free software.

Last words for today's angrytude : Why is it that people always tell me about Microsoft's products : "But you get support, that's why you pay!" Oh yeah? Do you think i just rang them up when some .NET 2.0 update messed up .NET 1.1 no touch deployment ? Oh we had to pay first and after they discovered they were wrong, then they refunded us. Haven't the company bought enough licenses already with 1000 pc running windows ? Haven't we paid enough for all those Visual Studio licenses ?

What's going on ? People robbing each other, some people shooting other people. It's just a Playstation 3! Let's hope people are a bit calmer for the wii launch.

Playstation 3 is more like PAYStation anyways. It's quite expensive. The xbox 360 is quite expensive too, the wii too. But the wii starts at the lower price of the bunch. The Sega Megadrive/Genesis came out costing more than the wii (if you factor in the increased cost of living today).

I might be wrong, but i seem to remember that guy from famitsu magazine telling the xbox 360 would win ?! Perhaps world-wide but surely not in japan, they had to do a relaunch over there :P

Anyways, i hate Microsoft (windows, world domination, etc...). I also hate Sony (rootkit cds, trying to push new proprietary formats). I'm objective, yeah :P

One of you might wonder why i haven't been posting here for a while. I guess i had too many reasons to post so i just ended up not doing anything. A little bit of ranting that might make you think about stuff you already thought out and stuff...

You know how most of the mechanics can't seem to fix your car and randomly change parts in your car hoping it will make the problem go away ? It's the same thing in computing. Number of times i've heard completely random crap coming out of a co-worker's mouth... Same thing goes for journalists. See how they manage to wreck up any computer-related news ? Don't imagine they don't mess up the other stories...

According to my special statistics agency, turns out that more than 50% of people are morons.

You know, just like that person you know that writes code by trying various bits of code until something works. Well most coders do that, but usually some of them have some sort of logic and manage to write decent code in the end.

I'm tired of people thinking the car horn is a magical device making all the traffic disappear.

If you drive downtown, you have to expect crazyness and expect to get stuck all the time in traffic. Please stop it, i'd like to be able to listen to my walkman when i'm going to work... Take the bus, the subway, the train or a taxi if you can't stand traffic.

I'm pretty pissed today. I'm really exasperated about people at work doing what they shouldn't do : not work. Spending an hour on the phone with a friend, then an hour on msn, then an hour reading the news. Whee you just wasted half of your day.

Half of the people seem to work at least. Some of them work hard, like i think i do. No time for browsing slashdot at work, or slacking on the phone or taking half an hour to get a coffee.

I mean, it's normal to get interrupted in your day of work. But when at the end of the week you've done about 15 hours of work, something's wrong.

I just read on the web that the crisis going on in the usa about the floods is getting worse. Worse because some dumbasses can't behave and there's fights all the time. Way to go people! NOT! Calm down. I went thru a crisis some years ago, no electricity for two weeks. We left the city for a while until things were well. There was no fighting anywhere.

It's probably not on the same scale but still...

please calm down.

This post made me feel better now. I'm almost calm now.

A final thought is : get creative. If everybody did something creative, i'm sure everybody would be calmer. Draw, sing, dance, make music, code, film, write, etc...

I guess this was a boring post after all, but they can't all be fun, i guess...

Another ad rant :

The new OnRetard system for your car will enable you to get help at the press of a button. Who will take care of me if i have an accident ? If i forget my keys in the car ?

Hmmkay, something's wrong. Will i be able to push the button once i get my head smashed in the windshield ? Maybe it's activated by some sort of switches like they use for triggering airbags.

But! The keys? I might have broken logic here but how does someone press the button that's inside the car? If you forget your keys, you won't reach the button. Then i see this car review telling me how much i need this service (which most likely requires subscription) cause it was so helpful for the 3 times he forgot the keys inside his car this year. Let's hope it doesn't happen to him when he reviews an expensive sports car.

Sadly, i didn't think of this myself. I've been told part of this rant by a good friend of mine.

Okay, i still can't figure out how a pizza, a car or some other stuff can present me a tv show. It does not make sense. Tv is becoming even more ridiculous every day, and we haven't got any medication ads here yet.

Oh the med ads... I've seen some in other places when i had the misfortune of watching tv. The new medicrap bladder pain reliever does not just only relieve pain, it makes the hurt go away. It makes everything wrong disappear and is good and will make you happy.

Then you see the stack of disclaimers going from things like *can make you want to pee all the time* to *can cause heavy suffering and make you go blind and deaf and then prevent you from breathing so you die and then you end up in a graveyard*

And while i'm on fire, what's wrong with people taking the bus. When i try to get out of the bus, they stop walking as soon as they're out of the bus. So you either end up bumping their asses or fall under the bus trying to avoid crashing into them. Same thing for all the wise ones stopping all of a sudden when walking on the sidewalk downtown at rush hour. Do they really expect me to be able to avoid them when they stop with no warning in the middle of the sidewalk ? Maybe they unconsciously wish to get people bumping on their asses...

Oh and let's not forget the rule of cool : you have to stand in the middle of the sidewalk when you hang out and talk with friends. The goal is to make sure you go noticed. Standing on the side of the sidewalk is no option, nobody would notice how cool you are.

Oh and i'm pretty pissed about some other things but i think this post is long enough for now.

At least i have no work tommorow and some good things are planned. I mean, real good things, like fun stuff :)

Last opinion of the day : i think that a 400$ console is overpriced and i won't get one, unless it's a neogeo.

I can't believe it, i learned tonite that my ex boss, of that ex workplace now has another job and gets paid twice as much... I can't believe it. I suck at management and i have better management skills than this guy.

Other than that my new life as a coder is great, i enjoy it!

really, i can't sleep, neighbors are prolly trying to have a baby, they make love all the time, the other day they made love at midnite and i got woken up at like 6am by the same kind of noises...

I wish they'd just shut up so i can just have some decent sleep. To now i've been woken up 2 times in 2 weeks. I mean, making love at 6am on a saturday morning is kind of... WRONG! Saturday mornings were created to recover precious sleep.

They'll be sucky parents anyways, 'cause they suck. Yep i'm really pissed this time.

time to get some sleep now, apparetly the noises have stopped. Oh and i hate flies.

And well, you might say i am not tolerant but i don't get what's so neat about seeing someone crying on TV. I mean someone really crying, like after being backstabbed by a *friend*. I don't care what Ms NoName does in her bathroom, neither do I care about what Britney Spears is doing in her bathroom. Can't I just have shows where you learn something?

Hmm, long time no updates, i changed jobs many months ago, things are better now. Well i always suspect things will get worse but they haven't really worsened yet.

That old workplace was teh crazy. They were scared when i told them i'd leave because i was pretty much the only person knowledgeable about the linux mail server which i set up. The others didn't seem too comfortable with linux (and the mail server tools), at least not to take care of that server... 550+ days of uptime and counting hehe :)

To explain more clearly, this journal will be about all the stupid things happenning at my workplace. My workplace is one of those crazy places filled with people that you just can't believe they actually exist. I'll probably complain often about whatever stupid stuff happens.

The cast
I'll try to make it clear about the cast. I work in the computer tech dept of a college. We're about 10 people in there.

The Boss : this is the boss of my dept, he has a boss too, which is one of the directors of the school. My boss loves gadgets. If it's got blinky leds, it must be good. He likes to look important and stuff too.

Hmm this is it for now, i'll try updating this post if i can, seems like i can anyways. I'm about to explode right now.
