This is true. However worse yet so many corporate systems have decided it's a great idea to obscure links and display a "safe link". So I can't tell what the original link URL was. So honestly at this point if the sender seems half legit I click on anything, not my fault if they let it through the firewall. They made it so I couldn't tell what I was clicking anyways. Could have been things I legitimately need to do my job, or could have been ransomware.

This. Who gives stores real info? Heck my local grocery store I never even gave info, as I can type in any random number and it works, as every one has given them a phone number. This works at most every store. The local pet store, random number. Why hand out real information? Would probably work at gas stations, but I don't want to be jerk and take someone's fuel points or something.

Yeah, except now they merged back and those running stock devices now get treated to Color OS rather than Oxygen OS, which from what I've read is not quite as good (I run Lineage). Either way, I think it's a mistake. Most people still don't know what or who OnePlus is. Carriers don't really carry them, so without the "tech savvy" community recommending them, I think they are going to start struggling. Perhaps I'm wrong though. How many people do you know outside the tech community know OnePlus though? More importantly how many would seriously consider buying one?

Well the open source community used to develop and support their devices for a long time. The OnePlus One is still an official supported Lineage device despite being an 8 year old device. However OnePlus doesn't seem to be supporting the community like they used to, or even releasing source code like they are supposed to. Unfortunately the OnePlus I'm making this post from is likely my last, as new ones do not offer the same freedoms.

You also have to look on XDA for all devices. Fortunately and Unfortunately their rules for being an officially supported device are so strict that some developers make builds without the intention of ever making them "official." Many times you'll find unofficial Lineage builds that are fine for daily driver use, that even gets regular updates. Usually its because of some minor issue, or even could be the developer doesn't feel like dealing with the hassle of making it official or officially supporting it.

These are disappearing too. Lineage used to have the best one that I knew of. It's slowly deteriorating. By the time this goes live and we have LOS 20 you'll be lucky if any of those options are left

Especially since I wouldn't consider what they have backwards compatible at all. I have 150ish 360 games sitting on the shelf. None of which are obscure titles. Not very many, read less than a quarter of them can be played on the new Xbox. Worst part is some of those games it's the only way to play them as publishers have lost rights to those IPs or because that's the only way they were released.

Another excellent argument in favor of never letting a "smart" TV on the internet.

So recently my mom got a new TV that was a smart TV. Wanted it connected it to her Wifi, and thought it was amazing all the free stuff she could get on it. Several months go by and it does a firmware update no the sound goes out on every input and the only way to fix it is to unplug the TV from the wall to "reset" it. The manufacturer is aware of it and working on a fix. As we all know OEMs don't just roll back firmware mistakes, that would be too easy.

I have V3. Still every update breaks breaks things. Most of the time the only solution osnton remove and re-pair devices. This also messes up to every automation and scene that used to control those devices. Not to mention the things Smart Things just plain can't do. I'm on my second thermostat, both of which connect to and are certified for use with Smart Things. However if you tried to automate of use them in scenes they would just ignore Smart Things. The you have there support that only seems to have access to the same tools and information that end users do. The app... That forgets changes and customizations every update as well on top of breaking things. I'm glad it's working well for you, but it's a buggy mess, with no support, in my experience.
