I agree with Dan. Giving my two cents I'd say that I believe all technology can help somehow, like blockchain (I am no expert to say that technically it can be better or not). However, focusing on technology is one step two far. Fake new thrive because not only trust is bein disintegrated, but the whole concept of truth or reality is changing. NYT or CNN can do good journalism as much as they want but if the audiences (especially the underserved ones) are poised to not believe in the first place, all tech hype is worthless. This becomes more serious when the specific underserved-poised-not-to-believe audience is offered a "new" reality that is much closer to what they want to believe. You only can prove someone is wrong if he/she shares the same references as you and today this is not what happens and the urban, more educated parts of the population fail to accept. This is why the US has an impeachment process going on but Trump's approval rates are steady. He has his own truth to tell his voters.
