motang writes: After two years of hard work and much to the naysayers that the project has been abandoned, Xfce team has released Xfce 4.12.

I have been running it since Xubuntu 15.04 beta 1 was released two days ago. It is much improved over 4.10, and the new additions are great.

motang writes: Rob Pardo, Blizzard employee of 17 years who has worked on WarCraft and Diablo is leaving the company.
"I'm looking forward to new challenges in my career, but I will always cherish the time I spent with you all and the amazing and collaborative teams at Blizzard," Pardo said. "It was both satisfying and humbling, and it made me a better developer and a better person. I look forward to playing Blizzard games as a player for many years to come. Most important, now I have plenty of time to learn how to build a competitive Hearthstone deck."

Submission + - Opera Releases a new version for Linux

motang writes: Opera released Opera 24 for Linux. Currently it is in testing (developer) mode, and only for 64bit Ubuntu, but hey it's a start since everyone thought Linux support was abandoned.

In my test it is pretty rough around the edges, only has ambiance theme as it has been hard coded, and all the window controls are on the right and not on the left like what Unity has. But it is a start.

motang writes: "FSF is complaining about Nintendo and their TOS as to about how Nintendo and update the firmware on the 3DS without your knowing it and they can even brick your system they see fit it. If Nintendo thinks you are not using the system in a way they want you to, for example using R4 to play pirated games."

motang writes: Nintendo has officially announced the successor to the Wii. At it's investors meeting Nintendo said that have decided to launch the successor to the Wii in 2012 after the fiscal year, and will show it off and have playable version at this years E3.

motang writes: Toshiba has made a line of self erasing hard drives. This means if your notebook gets stolen and the thief puts in the hard drive into another computer, the difference in hardware will start self erasing procedure, so your data won't get into the wrong hands.

motang writes: Rumour has it that Apple is thinking about putting in AMD CPUs in their iMac lineup. From Arstechnica "The Apple rumor du jour is that everyone's favorite tablet maker is considering AMD for a spot in the Mac lineup."
