We are a therapeutic foster home working with difficult children...

15 years ago I had a school therapist tell me with one child "if they can't behave in the car on the way to school, kick them out and let them walk the rest of the way." It's an effective tool.

I tried that again a couple of years ago. I pulled over 1/2 mile from school, and told the child to walk. I followed to make sure nothing happened. Someone called the police. I asked the cop "since when is it illegal for a child to walk to school?" He told me he could arrest me for child endangerment, but he wasn't going to bother because the DA would throw it out. Then he called DHHS, and they took the child from me because I "used bad judgment". A couple of months later they gave me the child again because no one else could handle her.

There is a sizable community which legitimately records concerts, with consent from the band (encouragement even), and shares them with the world.

Does anyone remember your history lesson? Spain and Portugal claimed the entire western hemisphere would be split between themselves, which is basically why most countries on South America speak Spanish, except Brazil speaks Portugese. 500 years later, what's the status of that treaty? Not much.

We'll do the same except this time it will be US vs China, and 500 years from now US and China will be nobodies.

When you have a big nebulous problem, how to you attack it? By picking away at the little piece which suits you. Typically what suits you is that it is in like with some other political agenda and/or fills your pocket with money.

Violence is a problem in our Society... so they enable gun control. Does it really help? No. But we did something.
People are fat and lazy in our Society... so they take away soda in schools. Does it really help? Dubious, but we did something.
People are nervous about terrorists... so we try to micromanage the internet which is one of the many vehicles they use for communication. Does it help? Probably not. Someone had an agenda to micromanage the internet, and this is how you do it. Terrorists switch to smoke signals.
